Since its establishment, STAM has been specialising in the design and manufacturing of innovative mechatronic systems for industrial automation.

The company performs all stages of the product design cycle, from conception through validation with CAD and FEA tools, to component and subsystem design and specification, down to the definition of tools, and production cycles.
The company has a strong know-how in automation, design and development of mechatronic systems and special machine for industries, having patented several of the systems it developed. Genoa, where STAM is located, is a high-tech area mainly focused on robotics and biomedical: STAM collaborated with the main R&D players in this field: IIT, University of Genoa, Tecnalia, Ideko, CRF, Sintef, TWI, TNO Fraunhofer IGD. STAM works in the development and design of advanced mechatronic devices for important customers, such as: Saipem, Prysmian, Bierens, Thales, Bombardier.

STAM has strong experience in the automation of industrial production processes, based on automation systems. The company has developed a wide range of highly automated industrial plants for several industrial companies. Experience of the company includes: fully integrated robotized automation, stacking and destacking systems, conveyors, quality and dimensional tests, assembly lines using robots, automation of systems tests, automation of laser welding systems.
