Together with the expertise on power transmission systems, STAM designed and setup a laboratory to test motors and gearboxes. The size of drives that can be tested is small to medium (up to 1 kW).
High quality sensors and equipment are available at the laboratory, to assess performances of own assemblies and commercial systems. The main parameters that can be tested are:
• Efficiency of the drive
• Kinematic error
• Backlash
• Repeatability of positioning
• Swiveling time
Special test setups can be developed to address the customer’s needs and assess other parameters of the drive. A modular structure allows technicians to quickly and efficiently reconfigure the layout and integrate new sensors and equipment.
Data collected during test campaigns are processed and analyzed internally, to produce test reports and suggest possible improvements to increase system performances.
